My mind is filled with questions today, my spirit with a verse...
"In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul." Ps. 94:19
Translation: I have an abundance of thoughts in my innermost being and in the midst of that, Your Mercy, smears over my mind, emotions, passion, appetites.
With the meaning of the original words added this verse takes on a whole new meaning for me. I have thoughts, I call them thought bombs, that bombard me constantly. When my brain is on overload I can turn my face to my Father who 'smears over my mind' with His Mercy. What a great God that brings peace to confusion, calm to agitation, hope when the future is unknown, confidence when the inner person is weak.
His strength is made perfect in my weakness. II Cor 12:9. I choose to step out of the way and let His strength be made perfect in me today. How about you? Are you on overload? Have you ever considered asking Him to smear your mind with His mercy? Take a chance, ask Him. He has never disappointed me once. Plunge head first into His Mercy and He will cover you with 'Him'. Rest in His covering today.
